BMS Improver / Junior Commissioning Engineer
Location: Midlands (Field-Based) | UK Travel Required
Salary Requirements: £35,000 – £40,000 + Company Vehicle + BenefitsWe are working with a growing Building Management Systems specialist who is looking to appoint a BMS Improver / Junior Commissioning Engineer to support their expanding project and commissioning team across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a BMS installation engineer or electrically biased engineer looking to progress into BMS commissioning and software work, with structured training and exposure to industry-leading systems including Tridium and Siemens.
The role is Midlands-based with travel to sites across the UK, supporting commissioning engineers on a range of commercial and industrial projects.
The Role
You will work alongside experienced commissioning engineers delivering BMS upgrades, installations and commissioning works across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with BMS commissioning and software configuration
- Supporting commissioning engineers on Tridium and Siemens systems
- Panel checks, point-to-point testing and system validation
- Assisting with graphics, alarm setup and system optimisation
- Supporting installation teams during project delivery
- Fault finding and assisting with system modifications
- Producing commissioning documentation and reports
You will gain hands-on exposure to commissioning activities with clear progression into a fully independent BMS Commissioning Engineer role.
What We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone currently working in BMS installation or electrical controls who wants to develop into commissioning.
Ideal background:
- Experience working on BMS installations or controls systems
- Electrical or building services background
- Understanding of HVAC plant and mechanical systems
- Exposure to BMS systems such as Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Schneider or Honeywell
- Ability to read electrical schematics and panel drawings
- Strong IT skills and interest in software/configuration
- Full UK driving licence
