Overview
A long‑established and award‑winning engineering, fabrication, and machining organisation with over 40 years of industry experience is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer - Turner to join its purpose‑built machining facility in Blackburn.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated CNC Turner who is looking to develop their career within a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC Lathes with Fanuc controls, including machines equipped with B‑axis, Y‑axis, and sub‑spindles.
- Work within a medium‑ to high‑batch machining cell.
- Apply strong tooling knowledge to ensure cutting strategies are optimised for high‑volume production.
- Produce high‑tolerance components, ideally suited to candidates with experience in automotive or similar precision‑driven sectors.
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings to manufacture accurate and conforming parts.
- Work with a variety of materials, including exotic grade alloys.
- Maintain exceptional standards of Health & Safety and Quality.
- Communicate effectively and contribute positively within a successful team environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Time‑served CNC Turner.
- Strong ability to program Fanuc controls.
- Experience working with multi‑axis turning centres.
- Excellent understanding of engineering drawings, tooling selection, work holding, and cutting strategies.
- Ability to consistently produce high‑quality, high‑tolerance components.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to integrate well within a team.
Shift Pattern
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:00am - 12:30pm
- £18 per hour
- £25 per week attendance allowance
