Field Service Engineer

Our client is offering a salary reflecting experience with Car (Skoda Superb) 24 days holiday+ bank, Expenses covered, work-life balance focus – 2 nights away a week, fuel card/credit card and some weekend work for OT (£5,000)

The Role

This is a field-based Service Engineer position, ideal for someone seeking a balanced career with variety and autonomy. You’ll be responsible for servicing, repairing, and refurbishing packaging and process machinery at customer sites across the UK.

Responsibilities include:

• Carry out planned servicing, breakdown repairs, and general maintenance on packaging machinery
• Identify faults quickly and resolve electrical and mechanical issues efficiently
• Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and full production lines
• Work confidently from electrical schematics and on 3-phase systems
• Conduct testing and fault diagnosis using appropriate tools and meters
• Set up and adjust HMIs, input/output systems, and basic network configurations
• Build strong relationships with customers and provide a high level of on-site support
• Cover sites across the UK, with around 2 overnight stays per week

About You

• Hold a recognised electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or similar)
• Electrically biased engineer with solid all-round mechanical understanding
• Background in industrial machinery, ideally within packaging or process environments
• Comfortable working independently and making decisions on fault finding and repairs
• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset
• Based within easy reach of major motorway links for nationwide travel Note: Engineers from different industries are welcome to apply.
