Location: Rochdale
Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 plus benefits package
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Applications Engineer to join our growing team. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and commercial activity, providing technical support to both customers and internal sales teams.
You will play a key role in ensuring correct product selection, troubleshooting customer challenges, and delivering high-quality, customer-focused solutions within the water treatment sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical sales support by responding to customer enquiries and advising on appropriate product selection
- Prepare technical proposals, specifications, and assist with quotations
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with practical and commercially viable solutions
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of water treatment products and their applications
- Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and customer training where required
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to support business growth and project delivery
- Analyse customer feedback to contribute to product improvements and innovation
- Support pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise
- Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities
- Manage and pre-qualify incoming customer enquiries from both a technical and commercial perspective

- Proficiency with engineering tools and software
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience in water treatment or reverse osmosis systems is highly advantageous
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and system specifications
