Description

Second Line Support Technician

Location: Rochester / Canterbury (Office-based with client site travel)
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 (DOE)

Are you an experienced Second Line Support Technician with a background in MSP environments? We’re working with a well established managed service provider looking to add a proactive and technically strong individual to their growing team.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll support a diverse client base across commercial and education sectors, delivering high-quality IT support both remotely and on-site.

The Role

You’ll play a key part in delivering reliable and efficient IT support, working independently and collaboratively to resolve a wide range of technical issues.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing 1st and 2nd line support to a varied client base
Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues
Supporting Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Azure)
Installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment and network infrastructure
Monitoring system performance and carrying out maintenance and upgrades
Managing and updating helpdesk tickets and fault logs
Supporting printers, cabling, and on-site infrastructure
Liaising with third-party suppliers and contractors when required
About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced MSP environment and can confidently manage workloads both independently and as part of a team.

You’ll ideally have:

3–5 years’ MSP experience (essential)
Strong knowledge of:
Windows Client & Server OS
Microsoft 365 & Azure
Networking (LAN/WAN, wireless & wired technologies)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
Good organisational and time management abilities
A proactive, flexible, and adaptable mindset

Requirements:

Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel between client sites
Ability to obtain an enhanced DBS check
Microsoft certifications (desirable)
Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent)
