Design Innovative Fire & Security Solutions
An established, nationwide fire & security integrator is looking to recruit an experienced Fire & Security Systems Designer to join its growing technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with a strong background in fire alarms and integrated security systems who enjoys producing high-quality technical designs, supporting customers, and delivering compliant solutions across a wide range of commercial projects.
Working as part of an experienced engineering and design team, you'll play a key role in developing bespoke fire and security solutions for clients across multiple sectors.
The Role
As a Fire & Security Systems Designer, you will be responsible for producing compliant system designs and quotations for fire and security projects from initial enquiry through to proposal.
You will carry out site surveys, attend design meetings, liaise with customers and internal teams, and ensure every design meets the latest British Standards and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design fire and security systems in line with customer requirements
- Prepare accurate quotations and technical proposals
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards and industry regulations
- Carry out site surveys to support system designs
- Attend internal and customer design meetings
- Work to project deadlines and commercial targets
- Build strong working relationships with customers and colleagues
- Complete ongoing technical training and professional development
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience designing Fire & Security systems
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or similar)
- Fire Alarm qualification recognised by an industry body (FIA or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of:
- BS 5839-1 & BS 5839-6
- CCTV standards (BS EN 62676 / equivalent industry standards)
- Experience designing integrated fire and security systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Good Microsoft Office and general IT skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
