The company has been established for over 50+ years and they are now seeking a Business Development Manager to cover the East side of the UK for the paper, protective and machinery side of the business. They are looking for someone who is dynamic, driven and determined to have a successful career in packaging.
Business Development Manager
Location – Leeds
£55,000 - £65,000 DOE – OTE (£60,000 - £85,000)
Our client is offering a salary reflecting experience with a Hybrid car, excellent commission structure, 25 days holiday plus bank, Life Insurance 3x salary, Health Care, 5/3% pension, laptop, and phone. There is also a strong career path within the business.
Responsibilities
- This role is predominantly new business focused which will encompass a great deal of prospecting for new customers, whether that is on the road, on the phone, lead follow ups and marketing.
- You will eventually accumulate a number of accounts which you will manage and nurture in your area for 12 months.
- Your role includes dealing with new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, services prospection, negotiation and commercial follow up of UK customers and branching out further afield acting in the markets targeted by the organisation.
- Being part of the team ensuring the department targets are achieved and exceeded.
- You will play an active part in the development of the sales budget, monitor revenue and margins, promote the image of the company and you will continue with the improvement of the initiatives of the company.
- Weekly reports completion on customer visits, pipeline, sales projections etc
- Provide excellent communicate channels both internally and externally.
Requirements
- Ideally you will have at least 1-4 years’ worth of experience in packaging or a closely related industry – ideally with a strong sales background, numbers are key.
- 1st year you will be required to hit a new business target of £500,000 - £1,000,000
- You must have a great understanding of the UK market particularly in the East UK (top to bottom)
- You must be happy developing new business opportunities and building on your successes.
- A sense business of relationships and customer service.
- Must be able to build new relationships, develop lapsed accounts and nurture all accounts given and gained.
- High interest in the technical dimension of the products.
