Our client is one of the UK's largest independent fire alarm distributors, specialising in the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire safety systems. With a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise and customer service, they continue to grow across the UK and are looking to add an experienced Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to their team covering Watford and the surrounding areas.

The Role
As a Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning, testing and handover of a wide range of fire alarm systems across commercial properties. Working closely with project teams, contractors and customers, you will ensure all systems are installed, programmed and operating correctly in line with current standards and client requirements.
This is a field-based role offering door-to-door travel, a company vehicle and excellent overtime opportunities. You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects while being supported by an experienced engineering and operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission and test fire alarm systems to the highest standards.
- Carry out system programming, fault-finding and diagnostics.
- Complete cause-and-effect testing and system verification.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with customers, contractors and project teams.
- Ensure systems are compliant with relevant British Standards and regulations.
- Complete commissioning certificates, reports and handover documentation.
- Provide technical support and guidance where required.
- Participate in the on-call rota and undertake overtime when required.
Experience & Qualifications
We're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer with a strong background working on a range of conventional and addressable systems, including:
- Advanced
- C-TEC
- Kentec
- Fike
- GENT
You'll also have:
- Previous experience commissioning fire alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm installation, testing and programming.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- FIA qualifications (desirable but not essential).
- The ability to work independently with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
