The Role
We're looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team at our client's Lockerbie site, maintaining a wide range of automated production machinery and industrial electrical equipment.
Reporting to the Shift Engineering Supervisor, you'll carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and breakdown response across a fast-paced production environment, helping maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.
This role would suit someone from manufacturing, heavy industry, agricultural engineering, plant maintenance, quarrying, mining or similar hands-on mechanical backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Respond to electrical breakdowns quickly and efficiently
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults
- Maintain and repair:
- Motors
- Drives and inverters
- Electrical control panels
- Sensors
- Switchgear
- Industrial electrical systems
- Fault-find on Siemens and Schneider PLC-controlled machinery
- Assist with PLC modifications where required
- Carry out workshop repairs and on-site maintenance
- Work safely in accordance with permit systems and risk assessments
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have practical electrical engineering experience.
Ideally you'll have:
- A recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (time served also eligible)
- Experience within manufacturing, production or industrial maintenance
