Responsibilities
As a PDI Technician, your key responsibilities will include:- Conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on plant machinery to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Diagnosing and resolving any mechanical or technical issues prior to delivery.
- Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment such as excavators, dumpers, and loading shovels.
- Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Providing excellent customer service and representing the company in a professional manner during site visits.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:- Proven experience working with plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, and loading shovels.
- Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- A full, clean UK driving license (essential for this mobile role).
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day as a PDI Technician will involve:- Traveling to various sites to conduct pre-delivery inspections and maintenance on plant machinery.
- Collaborating with the wider team to ensure timely delivery of equipment to customers.
- Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve any issues.
- Keeping the company-provided van stocked with necessary tools and parts.
- Communicating with customers and colleagues to provide updates on progress and any additional work required.
