About the Role

Our client is a well-established and leading supplier of process and packaging solutions to the food and beverage industry. With a strong reputation for precision, quality and innovation, they provide specialist equipment and support to customers across the UK.

They are now looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer with an electrical bias to join their field-based engineering team.

This is a hands-on role involving the installation, commissioning and servicing of capital equipment at customer sites throughout the UK. You will work across both electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring equipment is installed, commissioned and operating correctly before providing ongoing service and technical support.

The role will suit an engineer who enjoys working with complex machinery and is confident fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems. There will be UK travel involved, with overnight stays. Rarely, projects requiring up to two weeks away from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission and service capital equipment at customer sites
• Diagnose and fault-find on complex machinery and production equipment
• Work with motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, servo drives and inverters
• Carry out panel wiring and electrical installation
• Diagnose faults on 3-phase / 415V machinery
• Complete testing, commissioning and final checks prior to handover
• Provide technical support and servicing to customers
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and customer service
• Travel extensively throughout the UK

About You

• Experienced Commissioning Engineer, Field Service Engineer or similar
• Strong electrical bias with good mechanical engineering knowledge
• Confident working with 3-phase / 415V machinery
• Experience with motors, drives, inverters, pumps, valves and mechanical power transmission
• Comfortable with electrical fault-finding, diagnostics and panel wiring
• Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
• Strong practical, hands-on engineering skills
• Customer-focused with good communication skills
• Comfortable working independently at customer sites
• Willing to travel throughout the UK and stay away when required
• Full UK driving licence
