Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 basic

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Fire Service Engineer to join a rapidly growing and well-established organisation operating across the fire, electrical and compliance sectors.

The role will involve travelling across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, servicing and maintaining fire alarm and life safety systems across a diverse range of commercial and public-sector sites.

The Role

As a Senior Fire Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and remedial works of fire alarm and life safety systems.

You'll work independently across a varied client base, while also providing technical support and guidance to the wider engineering team where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and maintain a range of fire alarm systems.



• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works.



• Diagnose faults and complete remedial works.



• Carry out testing and maintenance in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.



• Service and maintain emergency lighting and other life safety systems.



• Service and maintain fire extinguishers where required.



• Complete accurate service reports, worksheets and relevant documentation.



• Identify additional remedial requirements and communicate these clearly to clients.



• Provide a professional and high level of customer service.



• Manage your own workload and appointments effectively.



• Support and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers where required.



• Liaise with clients, site teams and internal departments.



• Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota when required.



• Ensure all works are completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer with a strong technical background and good knowledge of fire alarm and life safety systems.

You should have experience in:

• Fire alarm systems



• Fault finding and diagnostics



• Planned preventative maintenance



• Reactive maintenance



• Emergency lighting



• Fire extinguishers



• Life safety systems

As this is a Senior Engineer position, you should be confident working independently, managing your own workload and dealing directly with customers and site representatives.

You'll also need:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.



• A professional and proactive approach.



• Good organisational and time-management skills.



• The ability to diagnose faults and identify effective solutions.



• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.



• The ability to support and mentor other engineers where required.



• A full UK driving licence.



• Flexibility to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
