Escalator Engineer

My client specialises in the installation, servicing, maintenance and refurbishment of escalators, travelators and moving walkways across the UK.

With extensive industry experience, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality workmanship and professional engineering services. They are now looking for an experienced and technically capable Escalator Engineer to join our growing team.

£40,000 - £50,000 basic, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Pension, Over time available.

Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm

Friday – 8am – 4pm

The Role

As an Escalator Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of escalators, travelators and moving walkways at client sites.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing escalators, travolators and moving walkways
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and identifying technical issues
• Carrying out repairs and replacing components where required
• Conducting safety checks and ensuring equipment meets relevant industry standards and regulations
• Troubleshooting faults efficiently and effectively
• Providing professional on-site customer support
• Communicating clearly with clients and providing updates on work being undertaken
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
• Working on client sites across the region
• Participating in an on-call rota covering weekends and bank holidays

• Some travel and overnight stays may be required depending on project and client requirements.

About You

• I am looking for an engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical understanding and the ability to work independently at client locations.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Previous experience in escalator maintenance, servicing or engineering is highly desirable
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting technical faults
• A full UK driving licence
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A professional approach when dealing with customers and clients
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A willingness to work on-site at different client locations
• Relevant escalator engineering certifications or experience would be advantageous
