Hire Coordinator

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: £28,500, increasing after successful completion of probation
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week – flexible between 7am and 6pm

We are currently recruiting for a Hire Coordinator to join a growing materials handling and equipment business.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administration and customer service skills who enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced environment. Previous experience within plant, equipment or vehicle hire is highly desirable

The Role

As Hire Coordinator, you will support the day-to-day running of the short-term hire operation, ensuring equipment is available, customers are kept informed and all hire administration is completed accurately and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating short-term equipment hire from initial enquiry through to completion
• Scheduling equipment and arranging deliveries and collections
• Contacting customers and providing updates throughout the hire process
• Preparing quotations, processing orders and raising invoices
• Raising purchase orders with equipment suppliers and updating internal systems
• Booking equipment into the system when delivered
• Working with suppliers and identifying opportunities for cross-hire
• Supporting equipment sales and finance-related administration
• Maintaining accurate hire and sales records
• Resolving customer queries and issues promptly and professionally
• Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers
• Working closely with the Service and Sales teams
• Using CRM and internal systems to ensure all activity is recorded accurately
• Supporting process improvements and the ongoing development of the CRM system
• Working towards agreed hire and sales KPIs

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Customer-focused with a professional and friendly approach
• Experience in plant, equipment or vehicle hire
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Confident communicating by telephone, email and face-to-face
• Comfortable working in a busy environment and managing multiple priorities
• Experienced using Microsoft 365 and CRM systems
• A strong administrator with good IT skills
• Commercially aware and confident dealing with customers and suppliers

Previous experience within plant hire, equipment hire, vehicle hire, materials handling or a similar service-based environment would be advantageous, although full training will be provided to the right person.
