Service Engineer – Machine Tool

£35,000 - £50,000 (40 hour working week) + company car + pension +laptop + smart phone + company credit card.

My client is a growing distributor of Taiwanese and Korean machine tools revolutionising the market by offering financing options to their growing customer base. They have an impressive supply of machines in stock ready to relocate ASAP to avoid losing orders due to lengthy waiting periods.

 They have a fantastic history of staff retention with many of their members celebrating their 10^th and 20^th anniversaries with the company. This is due to their ethos of rewarding success and looking after their staff, providing flexibility when needed.

 They are looking for skilled machine tool maintenance engineers or skilled service engineers to join their growing team. My client is offering fantastic training and support for the right candidate, and this is an exciting opportunity to develop personally and professionally working with a wide range of machine tools. Overnight stays are rare within this role, and you are projected to be away a maximum of 4 nights per month at most, so this is an unrivalled opportunity to embrace the service engineer lifestyle and maintain a fantastic work life balance.

The Role:

• Working with a range of blue chip and SME clients you will provide an excellent level of customer support when visiting sites. My client has strong relationships with their client base, and you will be acting as a face of the company.
• The bulk of the role will be providing an efficient level of breakdown response to clients to get their machines up and running in a timely fashion.
• You will cover a nationwide territory; however, the company are trying to limit this by placing you on projects within 2 hours of your residence wherever possible.
• You will also work on installations when required.
• The role will be home based, however, occasionally for training or meetings you will be required to travel to their Sheffield headquarters.

Requirements:

• Experience with Fanuc systems is highly desirable (basic fault finding)
• Engineers should be multi-skilled and be competent with a range of mechanical and electrical duties.
• Mechanically biased engineers are a preference; however, electrical knowledge is still required.
• Flexibility for overnight stays when required (although this is kept to a minimum).
• Experience with machine tools is essential.
• A strong maintenance background is desired or 2 years plus experience as a machine tool service engineer.
