Service Engineer – Machine Tools

UK North West – Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire and Merseyside.

£37,000 - £43,000 + Door to door pay + company vehicle + Fuel card + 25 days holiday + 5% company pension contribution + Private Healthcare + Death in Service x3

My client, a leader in distributing and supporting world-class machine tools operating since 1964 are growing. They specialise in demanding engineering fields, offering a range of machine tools from entry-level to advanced technology for metal cutting and grinding applications across the UK and Europe. Representing a comprehensive suite of Japanese and German high-end machine tool solutions. Their services range from installing stand-alone machines, complete production lines, and providing machine lifetime technical support. They are now looking to grow out their service team due to an increased demand on their services after winning on several long-term high value contracts. The successful applicant will receive exceptional training both in-house and at the principles and receive all the support required to hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities:

• You will report to the service manager to receive your daily/ weekly schedule.
• Install, commission and service CNC machine tools and automation systems on customer sites
• Perform machine calibration and alignments to ensure the machine is at its optimal performance
• Provide breakdown cover to a wide variety of clients from single occupancy purchasers to blue chip clientele.
• Diagnose and trouble shoot mechanica, electrical and software issues
• Conduct repairs to restore the machine functionality
• Maintain a high level of professionalism around the customers and provide technical support.

Requirements:

• Ideally you will be apprentice time served
• HNC OR HND equivalent required
• Multi-skilled engineers only as there are mechanical and electrical duties
• Experienced on a maintenance/ service role with specific machine tool experience
• Experience of Fanuc CNC controls is highly beneficial
• A strong customer service demeanour
• A commercial mindset is required to utilise opportunities to upsell upgrades and further machinery when appropriate.
• Flexibility to travel extensively when required
• UK driving license
• The right to work in the UK
• A valid UK Passport (Occasional travel to Japan and Germany required for training)>
