Applications Engineer – Machine Tool OEM
Location: Elland, Halifax (Commutable – max range Chesterfield)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE + £5,000 Bonus

As part of a larger American-owned group with £200m global turnover, Colchester is renowned for producing industry-leading CNC machinery and offering end-to-end customer support from its single UK hub.

The Role
This is a customer-facing, training-focused applications engineering role where your CNC machining knowledge will directly support customer success and sales. You'll split your time between:
- Deliver hands-on training to customers on CNC milling and turning machines (Fanuc essential, Siemens a bonus)
- In-house demonstrations and showroom support
- Office-based technical admin and sales team support
- Most training is UK-based with only occasional overnight stays and rare overseas trips (e.g., Malta). Fridays are usually office-based with early finishes (12:30).
- Support the UK sales team with technical expertise and time studies
- Provide technical input to global distributors and exhibitions
- Maintain strong customer relationships through effective after-sales support
Requirements:
- Background as a CNC machinist, production/manufacturing engineer, or applications engineer
- Knowledge of milling machinery essential, turning is beneficial too.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc, additional siemens experience is beneficial.
- Comfortable delivering technical training and demonstrations
- Apprentice trained ideally.
