Water Hygiene Engineer
Location: Midlands & Wales (including Oxfordshire)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 plus company van, fuel card, phone, tablet, uniform, PPE, pension, 23 days + bank holidays and ongoing training & developmentAbout the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Legionella Service Engineer to join our growing water hygiene team. This is a field-based role responsible for delivering specialist Legionella control services across a variety of commercial and industrial client sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out temperature monitoring and water system inspections in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance.
- Undertake water sampling from domestic hot and cold-water systems, swimming pools and spa pools in line with ACOP L8, HSG274, HSG282 and PWTAG guidance.
- Perform cleaning, descaling and disinfection of water systems.
- Service and replace Thermostatic Mixer Valves (TMVs) and associated fittings.
- Produce accurate service reports and recommend remedial actions where required.
- Respond promptly to client service requests and emergency call-outs.
- Ensure all work complies with current Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Safely use specialist equipment and chemical dosing systems.
- Maintain service vehicles, tools and equipment to a high standard.
About You
- A minimum of 2 years experience working in a Water Hygiene Engineer position
- Knowledge of ACOP L8, HSG274, HSG282 and PWTAG guidance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation relating to water hygiene.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the Midlands and occasionally stay overnight where required.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when business needs require.
