Job Title: Service Engineer
Location: Bedfordshire (Home Based)
Salary: £40,000 per annum plus overtime (OT)
Benefits: Company Vehicle (Van or Car), 10 hours OT per week, Pension (4%), Laptop, Phone, Death in Service x2, End of Year Bonus (5% of salary), Growing Company
Company Overview:
Our client is a leading packaging machinery manufacturer specializing in check weighers, vision inspection machines, and labeling inspection machines. They primarily serve industries such as food & beverage and are experiencing growth due to expansion. This small but dynamic business is looking for a Workshop Service Engineer to join their team.
Role Overview:
As a Workshop Service Engineer, you will be based in Bedfordshire and responsible for servicing, repairing, and refurbishing capital equipment at the company's existing clients. The role involves on-site service with potential overnight stays, averaging less than one per week.
Key Requirements:
- Experience with capital equipment related to Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
- Familiarity with servicing process or packaging machinery is advantageous.
- Multi-skilled engineer with a 50/50 split between electrical and mechanical skills.
- Electrical engineering qualification - City & Guilds minimum.
- Strong software focus, including the ability to fault-find on PLCs.
- IT experience, including knowledge of IP networks and inputs/outputs.
- Proficiency in HMI software.
- Programming experience on PLCs is a bonus.
Desired Skills:
Candidates with a personal interest or hobby in computers, particularly software-related activities, are highly encouraged to apply.
