Electrical Design & Software Engineer

Clitheroe – Relocation to Darwen July 2024

8am - 16.45 Monday to Thursday and half working day Friday 8am to 12.30

£45,000 - £50,000

+ Overtime 1.5x base, quarterly bonus scheme (OTE circa £52,000 - £60,000k)

24 days holidays + bank holidays – increase after a certain amount of service in company.

Combining 2 market leaders who deliver a product portfolio across specialised handling and automation products. We are currently searching for a Electrical Design and Software Engineer to join the team to support the customer experience as they continue to expand across the UK and Europe.

The role:

We are adding to the already successful team and searching for an Electrical Design & Software Engineer who has exposure to software and controls – specifically Siemens and Allen Bradley. You will take on a hands-on approach designing electrical systems for machinery as well as assisting with maintenance, servicing, and repair. You will be working closely with the customers and managing their expectations through to delivery – a great opportunity to join a globally growing company.

Experience & skills:

• Experience within Electricals in manufacturing.
• 3 years minimum experience as an Electrical Engineer (Software/Controls focused) or as an Electrical Software and Controls Engineer.
• Educated with a recognised apprenticeship.
• Experience of AutoCAD. 2D exposure is essential. (Company uses SEE electrical package.)
• Experience with software controls, PLC programming (Allen Bradley is essential plus Siemens is beneficial).
• HMI programming and knowledge of variable speed drives.
• Ability to balance many tasks at the same time. Time management is key.
• Positive attitude and manner.
• Excellent communicator to develop and build customer relationship ensure repeat custom.
• Positive attitude working as a team and supporting colleagues.
• Working with and supporting cross departmental – design, engineers, purchasing, shop floor.
• UK driving license is essential. Willingness to travel UK and Oversees.

In return:

In return my client is paying a healthy basic salary of up to £50,000 with a healthy bonus scheme bringing OTE to a potential of £60,000. This is a great opportunity to join an established growing company.
