Commissioning and Maintenance Engineer - Emergency Lighting
Salary: £37,000 - £43,000 + Bonus + Company Vehicle
An established leader in emergency lighting systems is seeking an experienced Commissioning and Maintenance Engineer to cover the South East of the UK, including the area from Basingstoke to Kent. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning and maintaining emergency lighting systems at a wide variety of locations, providing high-quality technical service across the region. Support for larger projects in London will also be provided when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Commission and maintain emergency lighting systems across multiple sites, with a focus on the South East region, from Basingstoke to Kent.
Carry out technical service duties, including the maintenance and commissioning of wired, wireless, and DALI emergency lighting systems.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and operational standards, performing regular inspections and testing to guarantee system functionality.
Provide on-site technical expertise and guidance to clients, addressing any issues and offering professional recommendations.
Support larger projects, especially in London, when needed.
Accurately document all work carried out, ensuring timely and compliant reporting of service activities.
Ensure all work meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Qualified electrician (City & Guilds 2391 and/or 18th Edition 2382).
Strong technical service experience in lighting maintenance, including commissioning of wired, wireless, and DALI systems.
Experience within the contracting sector is desirable but not mandatory.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage tasks independently and efficiently.
Professional, reliable, and client-focused, with a dedication to high-quality service.
Willingness to pursue further qualifications and development in the emergency lighting field.
Full UK driving licence is essential for travel between sites.
Flexibility to stay away from home on occasion when required for larger projects.
Training and Development:
A thorough handover period, with hands-on training provided by the incumbent engineer, will ensure the new hire is fully equipped with the necessary knowledge to excel in the role.
Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary ranging from £37,000 to £43,000, based on experience.
