Lighting Controls Engineer / Project Manager
Our client, a specialist in high-end lighting design and control solutions, is seeking to appoint a Lighting Controls Engineer / Project Manager to join their team in North Yorkshire. Working on prestigious residential and commercial projects across the UK (and occasionally abroad), this role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer or installer looking to broaden their skillset and progress within a growing business.
The ideal candidate will be electrically qualified or highly competent with hands-on electrical experience. Experience commissioning complex systems within luxury residential or high-end commercial environments would be a strong advantage, though not essential. Attitude, aptitude, and a willingness to learn are valued above all else. Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Designing, programming, and commissioning lighting control systems (primarily Lutron HomeWorks).
Installing and commissioning electric blinds and curtain tracks.
Troubleshooting and resolving on-site lighting issues.
Providing installation expertise into the wider design process.
Liaising with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and site teams to support project delivery.
Managing project resources, including equipment flow and invoicing.
Assisting with the maintenance of office premises and demonstration facilities.
Candidate Requirements
Electrically qualified (or electrically very competent with proven hands-on experience).
Minimum 5 years' experience in high-end residential construction.
Networking experience advantageous but not essential.
Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented with a professional approach.
Strong communication skills across a variety of stakeholders.
Able and willing to travel to project sites as required (UK-based).
Driving licence, non-smoker, fluent English, and permanent UK residency are essential.
The Offer
Competitive salary dependent on experience.
Extensive training and career development opportunities.
Involvement in highly rewarding and prestigious projects.
Company vehicle and private healthcare.
Employee ownership model with profit-sharing potential.
This is a rare opportunity to join a highly regarded lighting specialist, where the successful candidate will gain significant responsibility and the chance to grow into a key role within the business.
