We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Fitter to join our team in a hybrid role that combines workshop-based tasks with on-site responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work on a variety of plant machinery, including excavators, crushers, loading shovels, and more. The role offers a competitive salary of £46,000 basic, with additional benefits such as a company van, fuel card, and overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery, including excavators, crushers, and loading shovels.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults efficiently.
• Perform both workshop-based and on-site repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations while working in the workshop and on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and time spent on each task.
• Provide excellent customer service when working on-site, representing the company in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or similar role, with expertise in maintaining and repairing plant machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving license is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance or engineering are desirable but not essential.

Day-to-Day

• Start your day by reviewing scheduled tasks and prioritizing urgent repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of plant machinery in the workshop.
• Travel to client sites to diagnose and repair equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Collaborate with the team to share knowledge and resolve complex issues.
• Keep the workshop and tools organized and in good condition.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
