I am seeking an experienced and motivated Field Sales Engineer to join my client’s sales team. This role is ideal for someone with strong engineering knowledge who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer engagement and business development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting existing customers while identifying new opportunities for growth across a range of industrial sectors.

The Role

As a Field Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing customer relationships across the UK and into the wider market with international travel 4 – 6 times a year, providing technical guidance and promoting products, services, and system solutions. The role blends technical understanding with commercial awareness, allowing you to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.

You will actively seek new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts. This includes managing the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to quotation, proposal development, and project support.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop new business opportunities and grow existing accounts
  • Promote products, services, and technical solutions to customers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders
  • Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to quotation and delivery
  • Support customers with hydraulic asset management strategies and system optimisation
  • Prepare reports, quotations, and proposals for customers
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and opportunities

What I am Looking For


  • Experience working withing engineering sales
  • Must have an Engineering Degree. (Wider company requirement)
  • Background in technical sales, engineering, or products including valves, pumps, actuators, manifolds and Fluid Control Solutions.
  • Experience selling into the Aerospace, automotive, industrial, medical or petrochemical industries.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and deliver practical technical solutions
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and projects
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify sales opportunities
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK and internationally.

What’s on Offer


  • £40,000 - £50,000 basic salary, car, Bonus scheme, BUPA, pension, 20 days holidays plus annual leave increasing year on year.
