We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Workshop-Based Fitter to join our team at a specialist piling company. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of piling machinery and equipment, including crane-suspended hammers, hydraulic hammers, piling hammers, excavators, piling rigs, and drilling equipment. As a Workshop-Based Fitter, your key responsibilities will include:- Conducting maintenance, repairs, and servicing of piling machinery and equipment.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and hydraulic issues efficiently.
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
- Collaborating with the team to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Adhering to company policies and health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience working with plant machinery or piling equipment.
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications (preferred but not essential).
Day-to-Day
Your typical day as a Workshop-Based Fitter will involve:- Inspecting and diagnosing issues with piling machinery and equipment.
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs in the workshop.
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure equipment is ready for deployment.
- Responding to urgent repair needs and minimizing downtime.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workshop environment.
