Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Excavator / Dumper Driver to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated operator with experience in civil engineering, utilities, or water treatment environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating plant machinery safely and efficiently while supporting site operations on essential infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Excavators and Dumpers safely and competently on site
- Carry out excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling works
- Transport materials around site using dumper vehicles
- Assist with drainage, pipe laying, and groundwork operations
- Work safely within confined or high-risk environments typical of sewage treatment sites
- Conduct daily plant checks and report defects promptly
- Follow all site health & safety procedures, permits, and environmental controls
- Support groundworkers and site supervisors as required
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area
Requirements
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Excavator ticket
- Previous experience working on sewage treatment works, utilities, water, or civils projects preferred
- Lifting Ops tickets would be an advantage
- Ideally based within a commutable distance of Wigan
- Good understanding of health & safety on construction sites
- Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
