A well-established bakery machinery manufacturer is seeking a Multi Skilled Field Service Engineer to join their growing UK service team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer to work with specialist bakery production equipment, supporting customers across the UK while developing their technical skills within a highly respected and expanding business.
Field Service Engineer
£40,000 – £50,000 (DOE)
Location: Birmingham

Responsibilities
- Installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing bakery and food production machinery at customer sites.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults including chains, bearings, belts, gearboxes, drives, motors, conveyors, and pneumatic systems.
- Supporting electrical fault finding on motors, drives, sensors, relays, inverters, and control systems.
- Fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery.
- Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Providing technical support and training to customer operators where required.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with clients.
Key Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in a mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled engineering role.
- Previous experience working on food production, bakery, packaging, processing, or automated manufacturing machinery would be advantageous.
- Strong mechanical engineering skills with knowledge of pneumatics and automated machinery.
- Competent electrical fault-finding abilities, including experience with single-phase and three-phase systems.
- Experience fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment.
- Engineering qualification (Level 3 or above) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Self-motivated and comfortable with travel and customer-facing responsibilities.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within a growing business.
