AV Service Support Engineer
Location: Twyford Office (National Coverage)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
Additional Hours: Overtime available and paid at standard rateOverview
We are looking for an experienced AV Service Support Engineer to join our growing service team, providing preventative maintenance, reactive support, and technical expertise across a wide range of audio visual and videoconferencing installations.
This role offers an excellent balance of field-based engineering and office-based technical support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on fault finding while also taking ownership of service planning and client support activities.
Working predominantly across London and the Southern Counties, with occasional nationwide travel, you will support commercial and government-sector clients, ensuring their AV and collaboration systems remain fully operational and performing to the highest standards.
As a trusted technical expert, you will manage your own service schedule, coordinate preventative maintenance visits, provide remote support, respond to service call-outs, and maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and remedial repairs across a wide range of AV and videoconferencing systems
- Plan and schedule service visits around project commitments, managing your own workload and priorities effectively
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients and internal teams
- Respond to service call-outs, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service
- Update firmware, software, and system configurations to ensure optimal system performance and reliability
- Produce detailed service reports and maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Build strong client relationships while delivering a professional service across commercial and government environments
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
- British Citizen (required for Security Clearance eligibility)
- SC Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance
- Minimum 4–5 years' experience within an AV Service Engineer or AV Support Engineer role
- Proven experience servicing and supporting commercial audio visual and videoconferencing systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across AV technologies
- Knowledge of Crestron, Extron, QSC switching and control systems
- Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, Google Meet, Cisco conferencing solutions and other collaboration platforms
- Experience with Barco ClickShare systems
- Strong PC and software skills, including experience with Crestron Toolbox, Extron Global Configurator, Biamp DSP software and QSC software platforms
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics and system drawings
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS Certification
- Previous experience working within secure government environments
- Existing SC Clearance
