We are recruiting for a Sales Engineer on behalf of a specialist line integrator and machinery reseller supplying fully integrated production lines across the beverage, personal care, dairy, chemical, and soft drinks industries.
The business provides complete line solutions including palletisers, depalletisers, filling lines, inspection systems, and associated production equipment. Projects are typically high-value capital investments, with complete lines reaching £500k+ per installation.
The Role
This is a technical, solutions-led sales position focused on identifying and developing new business opportunities across key manufacturing sectors.
You’ll work closely with customers to understand production requirements and develop tailored machinery and line integration solutions.
The role is predominantly home-based (approximately three weeks per month), with one week per month spent at the company HQ in Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and develop new business opportunities across target industries
- Sell integrated machinery and production line solutions
- Manage long sales cycles (typically 6–12 months)
- Build relationships with engineering, operations, and procurement stakeholders
- Develop technical proposals and support solution design
- Manage projects from initial engagement through to order completion
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in technical sales / solution sales
- Background selling capital equipment, industrial machinery, automation, packaging, filling, or production systems
- Experience within one or more of the following sectors:
- Personal Care
- Chemicals
- Dairy
- Soft Drinks / Beverage
- Track record of managing high-value, long sales cycle opportunities
- Commercially driven with a hunter mentality
- Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do approach
Qualifications:
No formal qualifications required — relevant technical sales experience is essential.Location
Ideally based in the Northern UK region, preferably within approximately 50 miles of Stoke.

- £45,000–£55,000 basic salary (flexibility for the right person)
