An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established manufacturer specialising in material handling and mobile lifting solutions. With a reputation for delivering high-quality engineered solutions, the business designs, manufactures and installs bespoke equipment for customers across a range of industries.

This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of the operational delivery process from the point of sales handover through to successful installation. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers and contractors, you'll ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time and to the highest standards.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of operations, coordinating multiple departments and ensuring projects progress smoothly from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the operational process from sales handover through to delivery and installation.
• Coordinating the drawing office and in-house production teams.
• Planning and overseeing production, delivery and installation schedules.
• Organising subcontractors and sourcing suppliers where required.
• Resolving operational issues and implementing practical solutions to keep projects on track.
• Liaising with customers throughout the project lifecycle, including occasional site visits.
• Ensuring effective communication between departments to maintain a seamless workflow.
• Driving continuous improvements to operational processes, quality and efficiency.

About You

We're looking for a proactive, technically minded Operations Manager with a background in engineering or heavy plant who enjoys taking ownership and solving problems.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• A background in heavy plant, material handling, lifting equipment or a related industry.
• A strong understanding of hydraulic systems.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience coordinating production, suppliers, subcontractors and installation activities.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• An engineering apprenticeship or similar technical qualification would be highly advantageous.
