Sales Manager - Industrial Applications



Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Bonus: Annual bonus up to 30% of your salary.

Benefits: 33days holiday, pension contribution, hybrid work, company car. 

Location: Nationwide (Field based role). 



Overview



My client is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Sales Manager to join their Industrial Applications division. This is a field-based, standalone sales role, with responsibility for developing new business opportunities while managing a portfolio of existing key accounts across the UK and Ireland.



The successful candidate will have experience within the industrial chemicals sector and possess a strong understanding of industrial applications, particularly lubrication, greases and HI&I markets. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing SME with ambitious expansion plans and play a key role in its continued success.



Key Responsibilities




  • Generate and secure new business opportunities, with approximately 70% of the role focused on business development and 30% dedicated to managing existing key accounts.


  • Build long-term relationships with customers across a variety of industrial markets.


  • Identify new opportunities for specialist raw materials within industrial applications.


  • Manage your own sales territory independently while delivering against agreed KPIs.


  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities to support future business growth.


  • Achieve customer engagement and sales activity targets.


  • Travel throughout the UK and Ireland as required, with occasional visits to the head office in Kent.



Candidate Requirements



Essential




  • Previous experience in a technical sales or business development role within industrial chemicals or related markets.


  • Knowledge or awareness of one or more of the following sectors:




    • Lubrication


    • Greases


    • HI&I (Household, Industrial & Institutional)




  • An understanding of these markets is highly desirable.


  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.


  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a nationwide territory independently.


  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.


  • Full UK driving licence.



Desirable




  • Experience selling specialist chemical raw materials or additives.


  • Existing relationships within the industrial applications market.


  • Experience working with distributors, manufacturers or formulators within the industrial chemicals sector.
