The Role
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environment, Quality & Wellbeing (HSEQW) Manager to lead and develop the organisation's HSEQ function, supporting a team of Advisors across multiple UK locations.
Reporting into the Head of Compliance, you will play a key role in shaping the company's safety culture, maintaining and improving the ISO 45001 Safety Management System, and driving continuous improvement across all operations.
This is a senior position requiring a confident HSEQ professional who can influence operational teams, challenge where required, and build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
HSEQ Leadership & Strategy
Lead and promote a positive, proactive health and safety culture across the business.
Champion a Zero Harm approach, embedding best practice throughout operational teams.
Develop, review, and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, and improvement strategies.
Plan and deliver company-wide safety initiatives, including safety stand-downs and awareness campaigns.
Identify opportunities for continual improvement and share safety learning across the business.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of HSEQ Advisors operating across multiple locations.
Manage HSEQ resources, workloads, and departmental requirements.
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development planning.
Ensure consistency across audits, reporting, and safety processes.
Support the effective planning and allocation of HSEQ resource.
Compliance, Auditing & Reporting
Maintain and continually improve the company's ISO 45001 Safety Management System.
Conduct internal audits and support external management system audits.
Maintain relevant industry accreditations and compliance standards.
Monitor HSEQ performance metrics, trends, and improvement actions.
Provide detailed reporting to senior leadership teams, clients, and key stakeholders.
Ensure ongoing compliance with health and safety legislation and industry standards.
Incident Management & Investigation
Manage the reporting and investigation process for incidents, including RIDDOR notifications.
Review and approve investigation findings, root causes, and corrective actions.
Ensure lessons learned are communicated and embedded across the business.
Represent the organisation during discussions with clients and external stakeholders.
