Projects Engineer

Location: Horsham, West Sussex / Hybrid
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced IT professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects and seeing them through from start to finish?

We're looking for a Projects Engineer to join a growing Managed Service Provider and play a key role in delivering IT, cloud and infrastructure projects for a variety of customers across the South East.

This is a varied role where no two projects are the same, giving you exposure to different technologies, environments and customer requirements.

The Role

Working closely with the Projects Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering technical project work efficiently, professionally and within agreed timescales.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering IT projects to agreed timescales and standards
• Carrying out technical installations and project work
• Working closely with the Projects Manager on project delivery
• Providing regular progress updates and identifying potential issues
• Scheduling project activities around budgets and deadlines
• Completing risk assessments and ensuring projects are delivered safely
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and records
• Providing remote technical support
• Monitoring backup systems and proactively identifying issues
• Travelling to customer sites across the South East and London when required
• Making recommendations to improve reliability, efficiency and customer experience

Key Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone with strong hands-on technical experience across areas such as:

• Microsoft 365 – Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive & Entra ID
• Networking – DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Switching & VPNs
• Windows Server & Active Directory
• Hyper-V
• Backup & Disaster Recovery
• Endpoint Security & MFA
• Wi-Fi configuration and deployment
• IT project delivery
• Strong customer-facing communication skills

Experience with any of the following would also be advantageous:

• UniFi
• Intune & Autopilot
• Datto RMM / Autotask PSA
• 3CX / VoIP
• RDS / FSLogix
• Azure infrastructure
• Sophos XGS Firewalls
• Huntress
• Inky
• Structured cabling
• CCTV / NVR systems
