Are you an experienced IT Engineer looking for a varied, hands-on role where you can make a real difference?
We're working with a growing IT services provider specialising in delivering technology solutions and support to schools. They're looking for a Senior Onsite IT Engineer to join their team, providing high-quality technical support across multiple school environments.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently and building strong relationships with end users. You'll play a key role in keeping school IT systems running smoothly, ensuring staff have the technology and support they need.
The Role
As a Senior Onsite IT Engineer, you'll provide hands-on technical support within schools, acting as a trusted technical contact and taking ownership of issues from initial diagnosis through to resolution.
You'll work across a broad range of hardware, software, infrastructure and networking technologies, alongside supporting installations, upgrades and new technology deployments.
This role would suit someone with strong technical knowledge, a proactive approach and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide onsite technical support across school environments, troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
Install, configure, upgrade and maintain IT equipment, systems and infrastructure.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, taking ownership through to completion.
Monitor system performance and support the maintenance and security of IT environments.
Assist with the deployment, configuration and testing of new technology.
Support end users with technical queries, offering clear guidance and practical solutions.
Work collaboratively with the wider technical team to resolve complex issues and improve IT services.
Communicate effectively with school staff, providing updates and recommendations where required.
Build strong working relationships with users and key contacts across the schools you support.What We're Looking For
Proven experience in an IT Support Engineer, Onsite Engineer or similar technical role.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, hardware, software and networking.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
The confidence to work independently and take ownership of technical issues.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
A proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop technically.
Experience supporting schools or within an education-focused IT environment would be advantageous.What's on Offer?
