Assistant Head of Lighting
Location – Greater Manchester (WA14)
Salary/Package - £40,000 - £42,000 (DOE), Training, Career Progression, 33 days holiday inc banks, healthcare, and other company benefits
The Company
We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading live events production company for an experienced Assistant Head of Lighting. This is a hands-on, senior technical role supporting the delivery of high-quality lighting solutions across live, virtual and hybrid events.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Lighting with day-to-day departmental operations
- Take ownership of lighting projects from design, planning and documentation through to on-site delivery
- Act as Lighting Crew Chief on large-scale or complex events
- Manage internal and external training initiatives
- Oversee inspection, testing and preventative maintenance of lighting equipment in collaboration with operations and service teams
- Assist with specification and purchase of new equipment
- Ensure departmental policies, standards, and Health & Safety procedures are upheld
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior lighting role within the corporate events industry or as an Assistant Head of Lighting
- Advanced programming knowledge of Avolites and GrandMA consoles, plus media servers
- Strong understanding of DMX, show control and networking systems
- Experience with Vectorworks and Depence
- Knowledge of power calculations (BS7909 desirable)
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Flexible, proactive and customer-focused approach
- Full UK Drivers Licence
Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
