Location: Colchester, Essex
Salary: £60,000-£70,000 DOE + Company Pension + Private Medical (after probation) + Life Assurance & Critical Illness Cover + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
About the Opportunity
My client is seeking an experienced Technical Compliance Manager to join their growing Building Management Systems (BMS) team in Colchester.
This senior role combines technical leadership in BMS and smart building technologies with responsibility for SHEQ, ISO management and regulatory compliance. You'll provide technical support to engineering teams, oversee the delivery of BMS projects and service contracts, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance.
Working closely with engineers, clients and senior management, you'll help drive technical excellence, continuous improvement and the successful delivery of innovative building controls solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and support to BMS engineering and service teams.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex BMS systems, controls and integration projects.
- Support surveys, system design, specifications, tenders and project delivery.
- Maintain and improve SHEQ management systems and ISO accreditations (9001, 14001, 45001, 27001 & 50001).
- Lead internal audits, compliance inspections and external certification audits.
- Review and develop RAMS, Safe Systems of Work and company procedures.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Produce technical and compliance reports for senior management.
- Support sustainability, energy management and Net Zero initiatives through effective BMS solutions.
- Promote a positive culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
About You
You'll have:
- A strong technical background within Building Management Systems (BMS), building controls or building automation.
- Experience in a senior engineering, technical management or compliance role.
- Excellent knowledge of SHEQ and ISO management systems.
