A highly respected UK lighting manufacturer is seeking an ambitious and commercially astute National Sales Manager to lead its national sales operation during an exciting period of growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join an established business with an outstanding reputation, an extensive portfolio of over 750 lighting products, and the autonomy to shape the commercial direction of the business.
Working alongside the Sales Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in defining the company's sales strategy, developing its people, strengthening key customer relationships and identifying new opportunities for growth across England and Wales.
This is far more than a sales management role. It is a genuine leadership position offering the chance to influence the future direction of a successful business and progress into a more senior management position over time.
About the Role
The National Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the company's external sales function, managing both employed Regional Sales Managers and a network of independent sales agents.
The role will predominantly be field based, working alongside the external sales team, meeting customers, supporting key accounts and identifying opportunities to increase market share, whilst maintaining regular contact with the company's headquarters for strategic planning and leadership meetings.
The successful individual will be responsible for delivering sustainable sales growth, developing a clearly defined national sales strategy and ensuring the sales team is equipped to maximise every commercial opportunity.

- National & Independent Buying Groups
- Electrical Contractors

- Commercial Projects
- Industrial End Users

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and implement a clear national sales strategy.
- Lead, coach and motivate a team of employed sales professionals and independent sales agents.
- Drive profitable sales growth across England and Wales.
- Build and strengthen relationships with Electrical Wholesalers, Buying Groups, Contractors, Housebuilders and Installers.
- Negotiate trading agreements, rebate structures and commercial terms.
- Monitor sales performance through meaningful KPIs and performance metrics.
- Produce accurate sales forecasts and contribute to annual budgeting.
- Identify new markets, customer opportunities and routes to market.
- Work closely with Marketing and Product Development to support new product launches and maximise commercial opportunities.
- Coordinate activity with the Internal Sales team to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
- Attend industry exhibitions, buying group events and customer functions.
- Continue to strengthen the company's already excellent reputation within the electrical industry.
