AV Lead Project Engineer
Reading (Field Based)
£40,000 - £60,000Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
The Role
We are seeking a skilled AV Lead Project Engineer to lead the installation, commissioning and servicing of audiovisual systems within MOD and government environments. This field-based role requires technical expertise, leadership capabilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install AV hardware including control systems, projectors, screens, cabling, cameras, microphones and speakers within MOD sites.
- Build data racks to a high standard.
- Assist with conducting site surveys.
- Lead junior engineers and subcontractors on site.
- Attend service and maintenance visits as required.
- Configure audio DSPs and control systems (training can be provided).
- Commission and test installed systems to ensure full functionality.
- Make alterations to DSP configurations where necessary.
- Configure network switches and routers (Netgear, Cisco).
- Carry out firmware updates and upload prewritten programme files to control systems.
- Provide product training to clients and manage handover upon completion.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety procedures.
Essential Qualities and Skills
- Minimum of three years’ experience in audiovisual installation.
- Knowledge of control systems and DSPs such as Extron QSYS, Crestron, Biamp, with commissioning experience preferred.
- Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
- Full UK driving licence.
Preferred Qualities and Skills
- CTS certification.
- Manufacturer certifications with Extron, Biamp, QSYS, Crestron or Dante.

- Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
