About the Business
An established M&E contractor specialising in commercial and industrial design & build projects. A significant portion of our work is within the film and TV production sector, where we are proud to collaborate with a number of high-profile clients.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking to recruit a confident, reliable, and detail-oriented Electrical Designer
Roles & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
▪ Meeting with clients to gain a clear understanding of Employer's Requirements
▪ Carrying out cable calculations using Amtech ProDesign
▪ Completing Dialux lighting calculations and selecting luminaires
▪ Liaising with external designers as required
▪ Preparing Design Risk Assessments
▪ Reviewing specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
▪ Producing or coordinating AutoCAD drawings in collaboration with the in-house CAD technician
▪ Ensuring all tender submissions are accurate, compliant, and commercially sound from a design perspective
▪ Providing technical support and guidance to site-based engineers
▪ Maintaining strict compliance with quality standards and health & safety requirements
▪ Working closely with engineers, architects, and other professionals to develop designs
▪ Designing and producing electrical systems and layouts for a range of projects
Essential Criteria
▪ Design, Erection & Verification (C&G 2396) - minimum requirement
▪ Experience using Amtech Pro Design
▪ Approximately 5 years' experience in commercial and industrial design
▪ 18th Edition qualified with practical application knowledge
▪ Experience in 2D AutoCAD
▪ Experience with Dialux and/or Relux
▪ Knowledge of lighting design principles and CIBSE guidelines
▪ Understanding of general requirements for fire alarm, security, sprinkler, and lightning protection systems
▪ Full UK driving licencePreferable Criteria
▪Minimum of 5 years Electrical experience (C&G 2357 - NVQ Level 3)
▪Experienced in using Revit
